Cyber Animatrix Pvt. Ltd. (CAPL) was incorporated in Kolkata, India, on 28th June 1999, formed by young creative entrepreneurs, who never belonged to business families.

The Managing Director and CEO – Mr. Partha S. Mukherjee, the founder of the Company, is himself a multimedia professional, having started his career in 1984 as a Advertising Photographer and then as a Photojournalist (1986) with the Amrita Bazaar Patrika. Since 1988, he diverted into corporate documentaries, ad films and has also been working in the field of animation and special effects for movies. His major documentaries include ‘History of Ramakrishna Mission’ (2001), screened daily in the Museum of Belur Math (the headquarters of the Ramakrishna Mission, near Kolkata) and on the ‘Life and Teachings of Swami Vivekananda’ (2004), also produced by the Ramakrishna Mission, screened daily at the ancestral house of Swami Vivekananda in Kolkata.

Besides film making, he is working as a hardcore computer & design professional in the field of multimedia, animation, web development and digital documentation. Before forming this Company he worked as the Head of the Department in three organisations – first at CAD CAM Pvt. Ltd (presently known as CAD CAM Concepts); second at Star Computer Education (presently known as Star Multimedia – a division of Syncarp Technologies Pvt. Ltd.) and finally at the Research Engineers Inc.’s Indian head office at Kolkata – the last Company is presently known as Netguru Inc. At Research he was leading Hollywood’s Animation Projects.

Mr. Partha S. Mukherjee is the Honorary Webmaster of the Indian National Committee of the Indian Council of Museums (INC-ICOM) and is an Executive Member of International Council of Museums and has been elected twice to the Executive Board of INC-ICOM for the 2006 -2009 & 2010-2012 term.

Cyber Animatrix’s only other Director - Dr. Samita Mukherjee, is also Computer Pro with Physics (H) background and is also a well-known professional Rabindra Sangeet singer. She got first class first position in M.A. in Rabindra Sangeet in 1989 from the Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata (RBU) and is the first N.E.T. scholar from RBU. She has done her Ph.D. in Music Therapy from RBU. She is a permanent performer (B High category artist in four different sections) of the All India Radio, Kolkata, and Kolkata Doordarshan as well as in Rabindra Sadan and Jorasanko Thakur Bari. She later became a computer pro from CMC, Kolkata. Besides working as a Director, managing in-house projects, she is a part time lecturer of RBU.

CAPL has done major computerisation of the Indian Museum, Kolkata, starting with its web site (www.indianmuseumkolkata.org) – the first web site of any museum in India, inaugurated on 22 July 1999, then its Library and lastly the Conservation Unit. In 2000 it designed the web site of Victoria Memorial Hall, Kolkata (www.victoriamemorial-cal.org) and in 2002 the National Library Web site (www.nlindia.org) was inaugurated. CAPL has also worked for the National Register of Antiquity (the Indian Museum and Victoria Memorial section) – the database of the most important artefacts of the Government Museums of India. The IM database was inaugurated by the then Governor – H.E. Mr. Viren J. Shah at the Governor House, Kolkata at a special function.

CAPL has started diversifying into Multimedia Publishing, Publication Designing, as well as in the field of Software development. So far, two important software have been produced beside many others. One total Library Management - ‘LibMan' (as per international rules – AACR Level II) and the other on Digital Documentation and Conservation Process of Museum objects, a pioneering software in India – christened ‘Antiquity’. Both the software are adopted by Indian Museum and the Library Software is also adopted by Bengal Club Library. Recently Victoria Memorial has adopted Antiquity L.E. 1i, which is both a desktop and has a webversion.

Cyber Animatrix has redesigned the web site of Calcutta Film festival in 2006.

It was also entrusted with the still & video documentation work of the restoration work of Angel of Victory atop of Victoria Memorial.

CAPL specialises in Corporate Film Making, Digital Documentation, Still Photography, Web Designing, Animation – practically anything that is creative and audio-visual. It is now expanding its software development unit.
CAPL is soon coming up with two portal.
